Voicision for Android

Privacy policy

Learn how Voicision uses your information and which controls are available in the app and in Android.

This policy applies to the Voicision Android app. Its terms of use appear separately below.

1. About this policy

Voicision is an Android app developed by EscPlay, identified by the package app.voicision. EscPlay is responsible for the app's data practices described in this policy, including handling privacy requests.

The app is designed for voice commands: activate it, speak a request and hear a response. Text input and conversation history are also available. The current command set covers contact phone numbers, calling, battery level and the current time. Features depend on the installed version, permissions and your device's capabilities.

2. Information and purposes

  • Messages and conversations: text you type or that is recognized from your speech is used to interpret requests, display responses and keep a local conversation history. The history includes message text, dates and contact information present in the conversation.
  • Contacts and phone numbers: when you allow access to contacts, the app looks up names and numbers to fulfill your requests, such as finding a phone number and displaying or reading the result aloud.
  • Phone actions: numbers you enter or select are used for calls you request. Depending on the permissions and features used, the app may access call status, call history (such as numbers, dates and call types), and carrier or SIM information to display call information and prepare dialing. When you make a call, the number is passed to Android's telephony service and your carrier, and the recipient may receive your caller ID according to your phone and carrier settings. Those services keep their own call records.
  • Preferences and redialing: settings and redial data are kept on the device to preserve your choices and support the dialer.
  • Battery and time: the app reads the device's battery level and charging status, and its current clock and time zone, to answer the corresponding commands. Results may appear in your local conversation history.
  • Diagnostics: Firebase Crashlytics sends technical reports and app quality information to Google to help diagnose stability problems, as described below.
  • App updates: Voicision uses Google Play's update service to check for and install available updates. Google Play processes the app and device information needed to provide that service under Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Links you open: opening this privacy policy from the app launches a browser. Your browser and the destination website handle the connection under their own privacy practices; viewing a web page requires a connection even though command understanding runs offline.

Voicision's command model interprets requests on the device, without uploading conversations to an EscPlay server for understanding or model training. Accessing contacts on your phone is separate from sending information to another service.

3. Speech recognition and spoken responses

Speech recognition turns your voice into text using Android's on-device recognition service. Voicision does not save microphone recordings or switch to remote recognition when this local service is unavailable.

Spoken responses use installed offline voices from the Android text-to-speech engine on your device. Voicision only selects voices that the engine identifies as installed and not requiring a network connection. It does not offer an online voice mode or fall back to a network voice.

You may need an internet connection to download language or voice resources through your speech provider before using them offline. This setup download is separate from recognizing your voice commands or reading responses aloud on the device.

Voice features depend on compatible speech services and language resources being available. If an offline voice or on-device recognizer is unavailable, you can use text input and read responses on the screen.

Offline voice and on-device understanding are separate from diagnostic reporting, which uses a network connection.

4. Crash reports and diagnostics

Voicision uses Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service, to automatically report crashes and app freezes and measure reliability. Its supporting Firebase Installations and Sessions services process installation and session identifiers, app and Android versions, device details, connection type and session timing. Session diagnostics can be sent during normal use, even without a crash. These identifiers distinguish installations and sessions; they are not Voicision accounts. See Firebase's Android data disclosures.

Crash reports include error details and the app and device state when a failure occurs. Google may also process technical connection information, such as IP addresses, to operate Firebase, as described in its service data information.

EscPlay uses these reports to find and fix problems. Google processes them for Firebase and may store or process them outside your country. The app does not deliberately attach your conversations, contacts or audio recordings as custom crash-report fields. Error details and native crash diagnostics can nevertheless contain data present when a failure occurs.

Reporting is automatic; the current app has no in-app switch to disable it. Firebase uses encrypted connections for transmission. See Firebase's privacy information for its processing and security practices.

5. Storage, deletion and backup

Conversation history, preferences and redial data are stored locally in Voicision's app data area on the device. Conversations remain saved until you delete them; there is no automatic deletion after a set period. You can delete individual conversations in the app.

You can also erase local data through Android settings under Apps, Voicision, Storage, Clear data, or by uninstalling the app. These option names and paths may vary by device.

Clearing Voicision's data does not delete contacts, call logs or other information kept by Android and its providers. Manage those records in the relevant apps and settings.

Clearing local data or uninstalling does not delete reports already sent to Firebase. Google states that Crashlytics keeps crash traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning their removal from live and backup systems; this does not mean immediate deletion on day 90. Other Firebase service data follows Firebase's retention practices. See Your controls and rights for how to contact us and the limits of identifying individual diagnostic reports.

Voicision's backup rules exclude conversation history, redial data and development request logs from Android's app backup and data transfer. Other preferences may be backed up and restored, including after reinstalling the app, depending on your device and backup service settings. Clearing the app's local data does not itself erase copies held by a backup service; manage those through that service's controls.

Development builds may also keep local diagnostic logs of requests, model results and responses. Deleting a conversation does not delete those logs; clearing all app data removes them. This additional logging is disabled in release builds.

6. Permissions and security

Android controls permission to access resources such as the microphone, contacts and phone features. Voicision uses these permissions for the features you request. You can deny or revoke permissions in system settings; features that depend on them may become unavailable.

Calling through Voicision requires choosing it as Android's default phone app. This allows Voicision to provide its dialer and call interface. You can change the default phone app in Android settings. You may also select Voicision as your digital assistant to use compatible activation shortcuts; this is separate from TalkBack.

The current settings screen also offers camera access and requests contact-editing permission together with contact access. Camera capture and contact editing are not part of the current four voice commands. A permission request is not an indication that a feature is available.

The app's local data is kept in the isolated area Android reserves for Voicision. Protection also depends on your device's security and settings. No system offers absolute security.

7. Your controls and rights

You can choose to type, control permissions and voice services, and erase the app's local data. Avoid including sensitive information in conversations when it is unnecessary for your request.

Data on your phone: conversation history, preferences and redial data are stored locally. You can delete them using the controls described above. EscPlay cannot remotely access or erase data stored only on your device. Manage contacts and call logs through the relevant Android apps and settings.

Firebase diagnostic reports: The current version of Voicision has no user accounts, and EscPlay does not maintain a link between your identity and the installation identifiers used in Crashlytics reports. We may therefore be unable to identify which reports relate to you when handling a request. Clearing local app data does not delete reports already uploaded; those reports are subject to Firebase's retention practices.

Privacy requests: you can contact EscPlay at contact@escplay.com with questions or requests about data handled by us or our service providers. We will assess your request and explain what action is possible and any applicable limits, including when we cannot identify the relevant records. We may need to verify a request before acting on it. Please do not send conversation history, contact lists or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for your request.

Your rights: depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal data, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, or complain to your data protection authority. The technical limitations described above do not remove rights you have under applicable law.

8. Accounts, advertising and analytics

The current version of Voicision has no user accounts, so there is no Voicision account to delete. Use the data deletion controls instead. The app does not include advertising or Google Analytics. Firebase's diagnostic and session collection is described above.

EscPlay does not sell personal data or use your conversations and contacts for advertising.

Planned subscriptions

We plan to introduce optional subscriptions for additional features, with a server checking subscription status. Accounts and server-based subscription verification are planned features, not part of the current version.

Before introducing these features or collecting data for them, we will update this policy to explain the information processed, its purposes, the service providers involved, retention periods and available account and data deletion options. We will provide any required notices and obtain consent where required. Pricing, included features and subscription terms will be provided before purchase.

9. Contact and updates

Developer: EscPlay. Privacy contact: contact@escplay.com.

When you email us about Voicision, we and our email service provider process your address and message to respond and handle your request. We retain this correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable legal obligations. Please send only the information needed for your request.

We may update this policy when Voicision's operation changes. The date at the top indicates the latest revision. We will communicate material changes through the app or its update information and obtain consent where required. Publishing this policy does not replace Android permission requests or any separate consent required by law.

Voicision terms of use

These terms apply to your use of the Voicision Android app provided by EscPlay. The privacy policy above explains how the app handles data.

  • Permitted use: you may use Voicision for lawful purposes on devices you are authorized to use. Do not use it for harassment, fraud, unauthorized access or violations of other people's rights. EscPlay retains rights in the app.
  • Assistant limitations: speech recognition and automated interpretation can make mistakes or fail. Check the contact, number and action before confirming or placing a call. A spoken or displayed response is not a guarantee that an action succeeded; check the relevant phone service when the outcome matters.
  • Emergency and safety use: do not rely on the assistant for emergency communication or safety-critical decisions. Use your phone's emergency calling function or another available means of contacting emergency services directly.
  • Device and third-party services: features depend on your Android version, permissions, installed services and carrier. Your carrier or service provider may charge for calls or data under your agreement with them. Their services and terms are separate from Voicision.
  • Availability and responsibility: to the extent permitted by applicable law, Voicision is provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted, error-free operation or suitability for a particular purpose. To that same extent, EscPlay is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, or limits mandatory consumer or privacy rights.
  • Updates and ending use: features may change with updates. You can stop using and uninstall Voicision at any time; the data retention rules above still apply to information already processed. Material changes to these terms will be communicated through the app or its update information, with agreement obtained where required.

For questions about these terms, contact contact@escplay.com.
